Kate began her career in journalism until the desire to work independently finally got the better of her.

Shout was the full-service marketing and communications agency she founded in 1991 and was its director for 14 years. During that time Kate consulted in public and private sector organisations including the NHS, further and higher education, charities, professional services, sport and organic food retailers.

Along the way Kate also spent time learning and being coached by business leaders to gain a deeper understanding of the human condition and the nature and behaviours of organisations

During 2005 she wound up the business and in November of that year relocated to the Highlands of Scotland with her husband – a move she describes as ‘our big adventure’. She now works as an independent consultant for clients in Scotland and England in a range of sectors including renewable energy, environmental management, food and drink, higher education and tourism.

 

When she's not enjoying her work, Kate likes to climb mountains, watch birds, be with friends and gradually cook her way through her large collection of Nigel Slater recipes (current favourite, sausages with salami and lentils from The Kitchen Diaries).
